as Silicon Valley of India. Located on the Mysore Plateau in south-western
Karnataka, & is considered as India's third-largest city and fifth-largest
metropolitan area. Bangalore has far developed as a center for colonial rule in
South India, since British rule & has evolved into a manufacturing hub for public
sector heavy industries—particularly aerospace, space and defence.The city is also
known as the Garden City of India because of its climate, greenery and the presence
of many public parks. The National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS), one of the
three places in India where Stem cell research is conducted is also in Bangalore.

literacy rate.
The establishment of Software Firms has been a major success story
associated with Bangalore & also has recently attributed increase in India's economy
rate growth. Bangalore is headquarters to several public manufacturing heavy
industries such as Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), National Aerospace
Laboratories (NAL), Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Bharat Earth Movers
Limited (BEML) and Hindustan Machine Tools (HMT). Bangalore's IT industry is divided
into three main "clusters" — Software Technology Parks of India, Bangalore (STPI);
International Technology Park Ltd. (ITPL); and Electronics City.
